We offer Horsemanship as an addition to traditional therapy.

Horses are naturally empathic. They can pick up on emotion and respond to what they are sensing. The Horsemanship program at DRA allows students to work through challenges by forming connected relationships with horses. Our horsemanship is facilitated by EAGALA certified counselors and staff who specialize in working with teens. Students learn to care for and interact with the horses in meaningful ways, while learning and practicing new relationship skills with them, under the guidance of trained professionals. Students may participate in Horsemanship through individual, group or family sessions.

This hands-on approach is full of symbols and metaphors, which become the catalyst where students learn valuable life lessons about trust and relationships.
