As a result of various contributing factors, most teens upon entering Diamond Ranch Academy have not acquired the skills which allow them to be successful in their academics. Often teens with ADD/ADHD, Oppositional Defiance, Conduct and other similar disorders struggle academically because of their inability to stay focused. With the Real Life Transitional System™ all components of Diamond Ranch Academy are closely intertwined providing motivation and stimulation for the youth. Our "earn as you learn" academic plan ensures a positive reinforcement process resulting in a successful academic period while at Diamond Ranch.
Our approach at Diamond Ranch Academy is to nurture the independent learner. Our student-paced mastery curriculum allows each youth to maximize the learning process and earning of credits. Under supervision of certified teachers, students are able to effectively complete academic courses. Course credit is not based on time spent in class, but mastery of the subject matter. Mastery learning empowers students to develop academic skills, abilities and confidence needed for success in the classroom. Upon admission, transcripts are evaluated and assist in designing an appropriate course of study. Certified teachers track student progress and assist in the completion of academic goals.
